I researched and asked many questions of other experienced mothers about why, how and when to do different things with our child. I established routines, and knew
every pattern.. sleeptime... feedtime... playtime.. toilet time! Obviously routines had to change as
my daughter became older, and I eventually adapted to them aswell. However my husband on the other hand, was unlike me. He knew some of the routines and patterns, but did not seem to mind when, how or why things happened. The way he would do
things was different to me. This was very frustrating. I felt like I knew what was best for our baby girl and I was uncomfortable with seeing my routines being broken.
As a mum, it was hard for me to let go but as our baby girl became a toddler, we realised that
we each had a different, but wonderful relationship with her. Even though my husband did things differently from me, he still did them well. Yes, perhaps he didn't cook for her the way I did, or clean up after her or play with her the way I did... but he still did it. He still did all those things in his own special way.
